Are you on Fetlife?

Fetlife.comHow often do you ask someone if they are on Facebook or MySpace? For many of us, it has become almost a reflex. The social networking websites are great for keeping up with friends, family, co-workers… But not so great for privacy, especially for those of us with deviant sexual appetites. Unless comfortable with telling everyone about our particular kinks, we must be very careful with what we put on our online profiles. After all, who wants to tell their work colleagues about their foot fetish, their love of spanking or their belief in female domination?

So what do you do when you want to connect with others of similar interests? You go on Fetlife.com! The Montreal-based site is like a Facebook for kinksters. Given how the BDSM/leather/fetish community has taken advantage of the Internet over the years to connect, it was almost inevitable that something like this would surface.

FetLife is a social utility, like Facebook and mySpace, designed specifically for the BDSM & fetish community and run by sexual deviants. We think it is more fun that way. Don't you?

The site was launched in January this year, and is growing exponentially. It now boasts over 32 000 members, all kinksters. Its creator, John Baku, a kinkster himself, makes privacy a priority on Fetlife.com. The sign-up, login and home page can all be found though search engines, but nothing else is accessible unless you sign in.

Fetlife.com was definitely made by kinksters, for kinksters: when you create your account, you can choose one of 5 different genders, one of 7 sexual orientations and you can specify your preferred role, whether dominant, top, bottom, switch, etc. Once your account is created, you can discuss what fetishes you are into, join social groups or forums, post writing, see what your friends are doing, and more.

Jane’s Guide has given Fetlife a good review, saying “I feel like I’m giving you guys an early Christmas gift. Go check it out! This is the next big kinky community site! They are going to be huge, and they will stay huge as long as they keep the spirit that they have now.”

The Montreal Mirror, a free weekly newspaper, has also published an interesting article about it. Favorite sex bloggers Catalina and Marky D. Sade have recently become the marketing team behind Fetlife.com. Like they said, by kinksters, for kinksters.

Convinced, yet? Go give Fetlife.com a shot!

If you think FetLife is good.. you have to check out the new site by ErosArts - KinkySpace.com - it totally kicks ass!

It's free like MySpace - you can customize your own profile, and it has tons of features. The BEST social network site for kinky people out there - soon to be Number 1! It's only been live 2 weeks and already has over 1500 members!

I agree with the above - I joined KinkySpace.com and totally love it! It's soooo much nicer than fetlife (which is too dark and dismal for my taste).

Actually, you also need to checkout http://www.eveningkiss.com, it has more features than I have ever seen for a social networking site! If you are into Kink or BDSM, Eveningkiss.com is the place you want to be!
